Maharana Pratap: A Brave Hero’s Story for Kids

Maharana Pratap was a great warrior and king from Mewar, India. He is famous for his courage and love for his people.

महाराणा प्रताप भारत के मेवाड़ के एक महान योद्धा और राजा थे। वे अपने साहस और अपने लोगों के प्रति प्रेम के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं।

Born to Be a King

Maharana Pratap was born on May 9, 1540, in a royal family in Mewar, Rajasthan.
His father was Maharana Udai Singh II, and his mother was Rani Jeevant Kanwar.
As a prince, he learned horse riding, fighting, and how to be a good leader.

महाराणा प्रताप का जन्म 9 मई, 1540 को राजस्थान के मेवाड़ में एक शाही परिवार में हुआ था। उनके पिता महाराणा उदय सिंह द्वितीय और उनकी माँ रानी जीवन कंवर थीं। एक राजकुमार के रूप में, उन्होंने घुड़सवारी, लड़ाई और एक अच्छा नेता बनना सीखा।

Becoming the King

When Pratap grew up, he became the king of Mewar in 1572.
Mewar was a beautiful land with hills and forts, but it was in danger because the Mughal emperor Akbar wanted to control it.
Pratap promised to protect his people and keep Mewar free.

जब प्रताप बड़े हुए, तो वे 1572 में मेवाड़ के राजा बन गए। मेवाड़ पहाड़ियों और किलों वाला एक खूबसूरत देश था, लेकिन यह खतरे में था क्योंकि मुगल सम्राट अकबर इसे नियंत्रित करना चाहता था। प्रताप ने अपने लोगों की रक्षा करने और मेवाड़ को स्वतंत्र रखने का वादा किया।

The Battle of Haldighati

In 1576, Pratap fought a big battle against Akbar’s huge army at Haldighati.
He had a smaller army but was very brave. His loyal horse, Chetak, helped him fight.
Even though Pratap didn’t win, he showed everyone his courage and never gave up.

1576 में, प्रताप ने हल्दीघाटी में अकबर की विशाल सेना के खिलाफ़ एक बड़ी लड़ाई लड़ी।

उसके पास एक छोटी सेना थी, लेकिन वह बहुत बहादुर था। उसके वफ़ादार घोड़े चेतक ने उसे लड़ने में मदद की।

भले ही प्रताप जीत नहीं पाए, लेकिन उन्होंने सभी को अपनी हिम्मत दिखाई और कभी हार नहीं मानी।

Living in the Jungles

After the battle, Pratap and his family had to hide in the forests and hills to stay safe.
Life was hard, but Pratap and his people worked together. They ate simple food and stayed strong.
His friends, like the Bhil tribe, helped him plan to take back his land.

युद्ध के बाद, प्रताप और उनके परिवार को सुरक्षित रहने के लिए जंगलों और पहाड़ियों में छिपना पड़ा।
जीवन कठिन था, लेकिन प्रताप और उनके लोगों ने मिलकर काम किया। उन्होंने सादा खाना खाया और मज़बूत बने रहे।
भील जनजाति जैसे उनके दोस्तों ने उन्हें अपनी ज़मीन वापस लेने की योजना बनाने में मदद की।

Fighting Back

Pratap kept fighting to protect Mewar. He won back many forts from the Mughals.
He never agreed to bow down to Akbar, even when it was tough.
His love for freedom inspired his people to stay brave.

प्रताप मेवाड़ की रक्षा के लिए लड़ते रहे। उन्होंने मुगलों से कई किले वापस जीते।
वह अकबर के सामने झुकने को कभी तैयार नहीं हुए, भले ही यह मुश्किल था।
स्वतंत्रता के प्रति उनके प्रेम ने उनके लोगों को बहादुर बने रहने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

Chetak, the Loyal Horse

Chetak, Pratap’s horse, was like a true friend. During the Battle of Haldighati, Chetak carried Pratap to safety, even when he was hurt.
Chetak jumped over a river to save Pratap but got badly injured and died.

प्रताप का घोड़ा चेतक एक सच्चे दोस्त की तरह था। हल्दीघाटी के युद्ध के दौरान, चेतक ने प्रताप को सुरक्षित स्थान पर पहुँचाया, भले ही वह घायल हो गए थे।

चेतक ने प्रताप को बचाने के लिए नदी पार की, लेकिन वह बुरी तरह घायल हो गया और मर गया।

A Hero Forever

Maharana Pratap kept fighting for Mewar until he passed away on January 19, 1597.
Even today, people remember him as a hero who loved his land and never gave up.
His story teaches kids to be brave, honest, and to stand up for what is right.

महाराणा प्रताप 19 जनवरी, 1597 को अपने निधन तक मेवाड़ के लिए लड़ते रहे। आज भी लोग उन्हें एक ऐसे नायक के रूप में याद करते हैं, जो अपनी धरती से प्यार करता था और कभी हार नहीं मानता था। उनकी कहानी बच्चों को बहादुर, ईमानदार और सही के लिए खड़े होने की शिक्षा देती है।
