The Boy Who Cried Wolf

The Shepherd Boy
Once upon a time, there was a boy. He looked after sheep on a hill near his village.
Every day, he sat and watched the sheep eat grass.
एक बार की बात है, एक लड़का था। वह अपने गाँव के पास एक पहाड़ी पर भेड़ों की देखभाल करता था।
हर दिन, वह बैठकर भेड़ों को घास खाते हुए देखता था।

The Boy Got Bored
One day, the boy felt bored. He wanted to have some fun.
So, he came up with a naughty idea.
एक दिन, लड़के को ऊब महसूस हुई। वह कुछ मौज-मस्ती करना चाहता था।
इसलिए, उसके दिमाग में एक शरारती विचार आया।

“Wolf! Wolf!”
He shouted loudly, “Wolf! Wolf!”
The villagers heard him and ran up the hill to help.
But there was no wolf! The boy laughed, “Ha ha! I tricked you!”
वह जोर से चिल्लाया, “भेड़िया! भेड़िया!”
गाँव वालों ने उसकी आवाज़ सुनी और मदद के लिए पहाड़ी पर चढ़ गए।
लेकिन वहाँ कोई भेड़िया नहीं था! लड़का हँसा, “हा हा! मैंने तुम्हें धोखा दिया!”

The Villagers Got Angry
The villagers were not happy. They said, “Don’t lie like that!”
Then they went back down the hill.
गाँव वाले खुश नहीं थे। उन्होंने कहा, “ऐसे झूठ मत बोलो!”
फिर वे पहाड़ी से नीचे चले गए।

He Did It Again!
The next day, the boy got bored again.
He shouted, “Wolf! Wolf!” Again, the villagers came running.
But again, there was no wolf.The boy laughed. The villagers were angry.
अगले दिन, लड़का फिर से ऊब गया।
उसने चिल्लाया, “भेड़िया! भेड़िया!” फिर से, ग्रामीण दौड़ते हुए आए।
लेकिन फिर से, कोई भेड़िया नहीं था। लड़का हँसा। ग्रामीण नाराज़ थे।

The Real Wolf
One day, a real wolf came! The boy was scared.
He shouted, “Wolf! Wolf! Help!”
But this time, no one came. The villagers thought he was lying again.
एक दिन, एक असली भेड़िया आया! लड़का डर गया।
उसने चिल्लाया, “भेड़िया! भेड़िया! मदद करो!”
लेकिन इस बार, कोई नहीं आया। ग्रामीणों को लगा कि वह फिर से झूठ बोल रहा है।

The Wolf Took the Sheep
The wolf chased the sheep.The boy could not stop it.
Many sheep ran away, and some were taken by the wolf.
भेड़िये ने भेड़ों का पीछा किया। लड़का उसे रोक नहीं सका।
कई भेड़ें भाग गईं, और कुछ को भेड़िया ले गया।

The Lesson
The boy was very sorry.He said, “I will never lie again.”
He learned that if you lie, people may not believe you when you tell the truth.
लड़के को बहुत अफ़सोस हुआ। उसने कहा, “मैं फिर कभी झूठ नहीं बोलूँगा।”
उसने सीखा कि अगर आप झूठ बोलते हैं, तो जब आप सच बोलेंगे तो लोग आप पर विश्वास नहीं करेंगे।

🧠 Moral of the Story 🧠
Always tell the truth.
हमेशा सच बोलें।
If you lie, people won’t trust you when it really matters.
अगर आप झूठ बोलते हैं, तो लोग आप पर तब विश्वास नहीं करेंगे जब यह वाकई ज़रूरी होगा।
